    Sichuan Chemical Engineering Design Institute (SCEDI) was founded in 1964,locates in the west of Tianfu Square, center of Chengdu, which is the provincial capital city of Sichuan Province — a major province for China's basic chemical Industry. It is a national Class A engineering design institute attached to Economic and Informationization Committee of Sichuan – a major department of Sichuan Provincial People's Government in charge of the economy and industry of the province. SCEDI is specialized in engineering design, engineering consulting, and general contracting for chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries, with qualifications for import and export as well as overseas project contracting and has passed ISO9001: 2008 quality management system and the QHSE system certification. It is a sophisticated and technology-intensive modern engineering company performing functions like pre-project consulting, designing, procurement, construction management, start-up guidance services, etc, with domestic and overseas general contracting capabilities. It has been appraised as an enterprise with Class AA credit rating by China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association.
    After 50 years of training, reserving, and developing, it has formed a team with strong technical force, professional equipment, and high-level professional technicians. Now SCEDI has 170 employees, including 55 employees with senior professional titles, 41 employees with intermediate professional titles, 47 employees with primary professional titles, and 62 various registered professional engineers. Disciplines offered are process, equipment, architecture, structure, general layout, automation, electric power, electrical, water supply and drainage, HVAC, heating, gas, communications, technical economy, budgetary estimate, environmental protection, and safety evaluation. PDS computer-aided design network system has been established.
    Since the establishment of SCEDI , it has undertaken projects of engineering consulting, engineering design, general contracting, construction supervision etc. in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and construction industries, with the projects being mainly related to sulfuric acid, ammonium phosphate, potassium sulfate, compound fertilizer, calcium hydrophosphate, carbon disulfide, sulfur hexafluoride, synthetic ammonia, fine Glauber's salt, urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonium bicarbonate, chlorinated cyanuric acid salt, calcium carbide, yellow phosphorus, petrochemicals, oil chemicals, polyester slicing, pesticides, and inorganic and organic fine chemical products, environmental engineering, Chinese and western medicine, natural gas desulfurization, gas stations, waste heat power station design, industrial and civil architecture, safety and environmental evaluation, and other fields, particularly in sulfuric acid, fine Glauber's salt, carbon disulfide made from natural gas, natural gas desulfurization, synthetic ammonia, middle-low grade phosphoric acid made from phosphate rock, ammonium phosphate, high concentration compound fertilizers, and other products, ranking among the best of the national chemical industry. It has completed various projects totaling more than 3000 since its establishment, including over 10 general contracting projects. It has exported sets of equipment for making sulfuric acid, calcium hydrogen, triple superphosphate, etc. to Indonesia, Vietnam, Jordan, and other countries and successfully organized construction and start-up guidance.
    SCEDI focuses on technological progress and development, and is actively dedicated to transforming mature achievements in scientific research into the application in engineering design. It has completed 23 development-oriented chemical engineering designs, making great contribution to the development of provincial and even national chemical industry, and won nearly 100 kinds of awards. The awards include 13 national awards like Scientific and Technological Advancement Award, Technology Achievement Award, Excellent Design Award and High Quality Project Award; 51 provincial and ministerial awards such as Scientific and Technological Advancement Award, Excellent Design Award, and Excellent Engineering Consultancy Award, and 5 municipal awards including Scientific and Technological Advancement Award and Excellent Design Award. SCEDI has independently developed and possesses a number of proprietary design technologies.
    Taking “quality first, customers first, goodwill first, and service first” as its tenet, SCEDI has continuously improved its technology and management to provide domestic and foreign owners with standardized services for the entire process of construction, to ensure satisfaction from domestic and foreign owners and to promote sustainable development of society and economy.
